A couple of years ago after damaging the tendon in my right thumb I was left with a situation whereby my flexor tendon wouldn’t function, meaning I was left without the ability to grip. While in the hospital my mind was (similar to Richard Van As) going through the options, I decided I would find a way! the doctors said my usage would be limited but that they could fix my tendon after 12 weeks of intensive physiotherapy and sheer determination my hand was better and my range of motion deemed reasonable with only a lack of sensation to deal with in the long term.
I am incredibly indebted to the surgeons that made my hand function again but had I not recovered with one of the best recoveries they had seen I would have been working on a project like this. I believe its a testament to humanity that the creators have put the drawings/models up as an open source solution, this is a fantastic project and a positive step for 3d printing!!
Great work!!!
