Some young lad exploring Norgas House, I would suggest muting the video and skipping on the first bit.
Time to go to Belgium.
I recently got back from Brooklyn, I love the place!!! I want to live there oh so bad!! We stayed in an amazing place (thank you Air BnB!), the lady we stayed with was an art dealer and she had an amazing painting from this guy; Tim Okamura. His work is a divine blend of “urban portraiture”, have a watch :-)
“When Michele Motiscause first entered his newly-rented apartment in Barcelona, it had been abandoned for 35 years so looked nothing like the count’s residence it once was several centuries ago. “
A couple of years ago after damaging the tendon in my right thumb I was left with a situation whereby my flexor tendon wouldn’t function, meaning I was left without the ability to grip. While in the hospital my mind was (similar to Richard Van As) going through the options, I decided I would find a way! the doctors said my usage would be limited but that they could fix my tendon after 12 weeks of intensive physiotherapy and sheer determination my hand was better and my range of motion deemed reasonable with only a lack of sensation to deal with in the long term.
I am incredibly indebted to the surgeons that made my hand function again but had I not recovered with one of the best recoveries they had seen I would have been working on a project like this. I believe its a testament to humanity that the creators have put the drawings/models up as an open source solution, this is a fantastic project and a positive step for 3d printing!!
Shigeru Ban x Muji House
The depressing lack of options or affordable modernity in UK housing makes these kind of projects incredibly appealing.
Self Reliance in LA.
Theres some interesting systems in place here, I would like to see these systems made simpler, neater and more designed but I completely applaud those who work toward making there home a machine for living, a machine for producing, a machine! rather than just a mock georgian box with B&Q’s finest new fad plastered all over the place.
